William Slowe

William Slowe is a retired United States Marine, Emergency Medical Technician, and law enforcement officer with a distinguished career that spans three decades in a suburban community near Boston. Over the course of his 30-year tenure in policing, he dedicated 18 years to the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council Special Weapons and Tactics Team, ultimately serving as Deputy Operations Commander at the time of his retirement. Mr. Slowe holds numerous certifications in firearms, Active Shooter/Rapid Response procedures, and Less Lethal Weapons Instruction. He possesses extensive experience as both a trainer in law enforcement and as a civilian educator, with a teaching career that exceeds 25 years.

Matt Roy

Matt Roy has joined the Synergy team as a policing professional, bringing over 31 years of dedicated service to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Throughout his distinguished career with the Massachusetts State Police, Mr. Roy attained the rank of Major. He held significant roles, including Deputy Division Commander of Standards and Training, President of the State Police Use of Force Committee, and President of the National State Police Use of Force Committee. His extensive background includes senior leadership in complex environments, notably during his tenure as Academy Commandant, where he oversaw daily operations, budgeting, and curriculum development across multiple training units. Mr. Roy has consistently demonstrated a commitment to operational excellence, adept problem-solving, and mentoring personnel. He brings to Synergy a robust foundation of strategic oversight and proven command experience to support the company’s ongoing growth and success.

Brian Rojee

Brian Rojee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, Alabama. He has built a distinguished 21-year career in law enforcement, retiring in June 2025 as the Deputy Chief of Police for the Milford, Connecticut Police Department. During his tenure, he served as the Director of the Regional Police Academy for multiple classes and was a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor for the State of Connecticut for 15 years. Currently, he is the Armed Shift Commander at Sacred Heart University’s Department of Public Safety. Mr. Rojee is deeply committed to enhancing personal and institutional safety and security, and he continues to play a crucial role in fostering safer environments within higher education and beyond.

Jack Richman

Jack Richman is a retired Police Sergeant with over forty years of experience in law enforcement. He spent twenty years as a member of the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team, during which he held several supervisory roles, including Element Leader, Logistics Commander, and grant writer. Mr. Richman played a direct role in the response to the Boston Marathon Bombing and the Watertown Shootout. Currently, he serves as a Special Police Officer for the Milton Police Department and as a Deputy Sheriff for the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Mr. Richman holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He has also completed the FBI LEEDA leadership course and received the distinguished Trilogy Award.

 

In addition to his law enforcement career, Mr. Richman served for seven years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve as a Combat Engineer and Military Police Officer, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He is currently a firearms instructor for the Municipal Police Training Committee and holds numerous teaching certifications.

Russ Jenkins

Russ Jenkins joined the Braintree Police Department in February 1983 after serving for eighteen months as a police officer with the Harvard University Police Department. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1985, serving as Night Shift Patrol Supervisor and spending six months in the Detective Division. In 1987, Russ was promoted to Lieutenant and served as the Night Shift Watch Commander until 1997, when he was assigned to supervise a newly expanded Detective Division.

 

In 2004, he was promoted to Deputy Chief, overseeing the Department's Operations and Administrative Bureaus. Russ was appointed Chief of Police in October 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University and completed a Certificate Program in Public Safety Leadership and Management at the Suffolk University Center for Public Management. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA, a prestigious ten-week program for police executives attended by law enforcement leaders from around the world.

 

Russ has served on the Executive Board of the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (MetroLEC) and was the Control Chief for MetroLEC’s Tactical Division, which includes the SWAT and Crisis Negotiations Teams. In this role, he oversaw the successful resolution of numerous critical incidents, including armed barricaded subjects and high-risk warrant services. 

 

Additionally, Russ represented the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association on Governor Patrick’s 2014 School Safety and Security Task Force. Following the tragic events at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, Russ implemented a program directing patrol officers to make daily walk-throughs of the elementary schools in their areas. The high school and middle schools were covered by the school resource officer and community service officers, ensuring a police presence at all Braintree schools every day. This program remains in place today.

 

After retiring from the police department in 2016, Russ joined Synergy Solutions in 2018. He has conducted numerous safety and security audits in schools and other facilities and has trained thousands of teachers, hospital workers, and private- and public-sector employees in Synergy's 4Ls program. With over 35 years of experience, he has trained police officers in Massachusetts and internationally on topics including defensive tactics, firearms, legal issues, and the deployment of the ASP tactical baton. Russ continues to provide firearms training for two regional police academies and resides in Braintree with his wife. He has three children and six grandchildren.

Brian Jenkins

Brian Jenkins was appointed as a police officer with the Braintree Police Department in 2014, following more than eight years of service as a corrections officer with the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2021 and initially served as a patrol supervisor before overseeing the Traffic Unit's rebuilding, where he is currently assigned full-time.

 

In his role as a police supervisor, Brian has responded to and managed countless critical incidents, including active shooter situations, hostage rescues, and riot control. Throughout his nearly 20-year law enforcement career, he has spent significant time as a field training officer, certified instructor, and instructor trainer, both within his department and for the Municipal Police Training Committee at multiple regional academies. His training focuses primarily on Patrol Tactics Disciplines, including firearms, electronic control weapons, applied patrol procedures, and active-shooter response.

 

Additionally, Brian serves as the department liaison to local schools and businesses, conducting training and preparing for violent intruder and active-threat scenarios. He joined Synergy Solutions in 2018, where he has performed numerous security audits in schools and trained thousands of teachers, hospital workers, and employees from both public and private sectors in Synergy’s 4Ls program. Brian resides in Braintree with his wife and their two young children.

Chris Spillane

Chris Spillane has recently joined the Synergy team after completing a distinguished 33-year career in law enforcement with the Franklin Police Department in Franklin, Massachusetts. He holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

 

Throughout his tenure at the Franklin Police Department, Mr. Spillane served as a Sergeant for 22 years, during which time he led the School Safety and Community Policing Unit for 16 years. In this capacity, he acted as the department's liaison to all educational institutions in Franklin and was responsible for conducting training sessions and preparing staff for potential threats to school safety.

 

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Spillane is an engaged member of the Franklin community, having recently retired from his role as the High School Hockey Coach, a position he held for 25 years. He resides with his wife and is the proud parent of three children and one grandchild.

Jason Gonzalez

Jason Gonzalez began his career with the Millis Police Department in 2016, transitioning seamlessly from his position at the Smithfield Police Department in Rhode Island. His career in law enforcement began with a solid foundation as a correctional officer for the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, where he honed his skills right after graduating from Nichols College.

Currently, Jason holds the rank of Detective Sergeant and oversees intricate crime cases for the department. In addition to his investigative duties, he serves as the designated supervisor for the Chief of Police in the Licensing to Carry (LTC) unit, an essential role that involves overseeing daily operations and processing LTC permit applications in the community. Furthermore, Jason is one of only two Evidence Control Officers within the department, entrusted with the critical responsibility of ensuring the secure handling, meticulous documentation, proper storage, and authorized release of both physical and digital evidence.

Beyond his contributions to law enforcement, Jason joined Synergy in 2017, where he has made a significant impact by training thousands of teachers, healthcare professionals, and employees across both public and private sectors in the transformative 4Ls program. Off duty, he takes pride in being a dedicated “girl dad,” cherishing his role as a father and creating lasting memories with his daughters.
